Hey, I'm Shay! Here is shit about me/stuff that I like.
My top five...
Music: Bob Dylan, Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes, She & Him, Led Zeppelin. Okay, and Death Cab for Cutie. And Neil Young. I am also a (totally unashamed) fan of trashy dance beats a la Lady GaGa and Britney Spears.
TV Shows: The Office, Seinfeld, Freaks and Geeks, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory. And Jeopardy!. And right now I'm really into The Mentalist.
Movies: The Sound of Music, Rushmore, Mona Lisa Smile, Almost Famous, Annie Hall (or anything Woody Allen has touched in general.)
Books: Atonement, Jane Eyre, A Wrinkle In Time, The Realm of Possibility, The Witches. (Bonus Memoirs: Mommies Who Drink, Shutterbabe, Naked.)
Writers: Kurt Vonnegut, David Sedaris, Pablo Neruda, Billy Collins, Italo Calvino, JK Rowling, Roald Dahl, Ian McEwan.
Comics: Mostly DC, by which I mean BATMAN, because Paul Dini is a god. I actually have very little comic knowledge beyond Batman, Green Arrow, and some X-Men (read: very little X-Men.)
Hobbies & pastimes: Photography (traditional, meaning film). Reading and writing, quite obviously. Swimming. Pestering my boyfriend as much as possible. Playing with my cat. I'm also currently working on making money so I can obstain an obscene amount of tattoos.
Other: My favorite actor is Bill Murray. My favorite actresses are Zooey Deschanel and Julia Roberts. My favorite director is Wes Anderson. I want to be Ansel Adams when I grow up. I'm addicted to lemonade, pink grapefruit tic tacs, trying recipes from epicurious.com, and online shopping. I'm also an interdisciplinary studies major, which basically means I get to study whatever I want and get a degree in it, which ALSO means I am getting a degree in waiting tables. Actually, I want to be a book editor, but the degree in waiting tables still applies.
